Supporting The Ruby Bookshelf

The Ruby Bookshelf is run entirely by volunteers and it hosts Ruby language related contents that can be read by anyone at no cost in the hope that it can help provide high quality Ruby language documentation resources to newcomers and existing Ruby language users. You can help make this invaluable resource better and more available to others by supporting the project in several different ways.

Anyone…

Consider donating money to The Ruby Bookshelf, the Pandora project, or both. It will help pay the infrastructure cost for the site and purchase computing resources used to maintain the site.

If you are a Ruby writer or author…

Consider releasing the text of your publication under the Creative Commons License or the GNU Free Documentation License so that they can be freely republished at The Ruby Bookshelf. If not, consider granting The Ruby Bookshelf an explicit permission to republish the text of your publication in Pandora format and to make it freely available to read at the site.

Consider publishing your article in the Pandora format from the start. There are several ways that you can do this. You may sign up as an author with The Ruby Bookshelf, and publish your articles right here using the Pandora tools hosted on this site. You may also download your own copy of Pandora, and use it to author contents that you can then publish here at The Ruby Bookshelf.

If you are a Ruby enthusiast…

Consider donating your time to help convert existing publications into Pandora format to be published at The Ruby Bookshelf, which is not a very difficult task, but could be time consuming. You could also help by donating your time to review the work that have been done by others, to make sure that the conversions are accurate and highly usable and readable.

Did you find an interesting article on the Web that could be of great use to other Ruby language users? If so, propose to the article’s author to consider republishing the text at The Ruby Bookshelf.
